Local, and staying that way
We do one thing well: roofs on Bushnell, Sumter County homes and surrounding areas, done right the first time.
Tippy Top has been roofing Central Florida for more than twenty years and running under our own name for the last eight. That means we know exactly what a Sumter County roof goes through, the July thunderstorms, the salt-edged humidity, the hurricane months from June through November, and we build for it instead of around it.
We’re residential specialists, not a crew juggling commercial contracts and squeezing your re-roof in between. You get preferred pricing through GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, TAMKO and Atlas, a 10-year labor warranty on new roofs and re-roofs, on top of the manufacturer’s lifetime coverage, and a phone number that reaches someone who was on the roof.
Most of our work comes from neighbors telling neighbors. When the person who quotes your roof is the same person standing on it and the same person who answers when you call two years later, the whole job goes differently.
What we handle
From a lifted shingle to a full tear-off.
Whether it’s a leak over the kitchen or a whole system past its years, we start with an honest look and a written number, then do exactly what we quoted.
Homes Residential
- Roof repairs. Patches, flashing, wind and soffit damage, caught before it spreads.
- Leak repair. We trace the water to its real source and stop it, not just the wet spot.
- Roof replacement. Full tear-off, deck inspection, and a code-compliant re-roof.
- Roof installation. New-construction and new-build roofs done to Florida code.
- Asphalt shingle roofing. Architectural lines from GAF, Owens Corning, TAMKO and Atlas.
- Metal roofing. Standing-seam and profile metal, one of the things we’re known for.
- Manufactured home roofing. The low-slope sections most shops skip on mobile homes.
- Solar ventilation. Solar-powered attic fans that pull heat out all day and take real weight off your cooling bill.
- Roof inspections. Every layer checked, documented with photos.
Storms & buildings Commercial

- Emergency tarping. Heavy-duty tarps up fast to stop water while you plan the real fix.
- Gutter cleaning. Downspouts, hangers and seals looked at while we’re up there.
- TPO roofing. Lightweight, reflective single-ply membrane for low-slope commercial roofs.
- EPDM roofing. Proven rubber membrane that flexes through Florida’s heat cycles.
- Modified bitumen. Durable multi-layer asphalt system for flat commercial roofs.
- Roof coatings. Cost-saving restoration coats that extend a flat roof’s life.
- Flat-roof systems. Complete low-slope builds with drainage engineered for our rain.
Pick the right roof
Four ways to top your home, all done in-house.
We’ll walk your home and lay out the honest trade-offs. No pressure toward the priciest option, just what fits your roof, your budget, and how long you plan to stay.

Architectural shingles
Premium GAF, Owens Corning, TAMKO and Atlas lines built for Florida wind. The affordable, proven choice, and the one most Bushnell roofs wear.

Standing-seam metal
Lasts two to three times longer, cuts cooling bills, and shrugs off hurricane wind. A specialty of ours, and Bushnell has no HOA rules limiting it.

Ultra rib metal
Exposed-fastener rib panels set over purlins with insulation between the panels, so the roof sheds Florida sun and your cooling bill feels it. A favorite on barns, shops and manufactured homes.

Flat & membrane roofs
TPO and EPDM for commercial buildings, plus the flat sections on manufactured homes that shingle-only shops leave out of the quote.
Materials that hold up here
We only put on roofs we’d put on our own homes.
Being a preferred installer for the major manufacturers means better pricing and stronger warranties, both of which land in your pocket. It also means we know each line’s strengths cold.
- GAF & Owens Corning. Workhorse architectural shingles with strong wind ratings and clean, dimensional looks.
- TAMKO Titan. A heavier shingle built for wind, exactly what a Central Florida roof needs.
- CertainTeed & Atlas. Premium lines and specialty profiles when the roof or the look calls for it.
- Standing-seam metal. Long-life panels for homeowners who want to roof once and be done.
- TPO, EPDM & GAF EverGuard SA. Flat and low-slope membranes for commercial and manufactured homes.
Why homeowners pick us
Not too big to be seen on your roof.
Plenty of Bushnell homeowners have been burned by a storm-chasing crew that shows up, upsells, and disappears. That’s not us. We live and work out of 70 County Road 532C, one lead runs your job from the first call through the final walkthrough, and the owner is involved in every project, so there’s always someone who knows your roof by name.
You get a written, itemized number before anyone starts, permits pulled in your name, a clean job site every day, and a roof that outlasts its warranty. That’s the whole pitch.

Wind, hail, or a sudden leak? We move fast.
When a storm tears through Bushnell or a leak puts your ceiling at risk, every hour counts. We run an around-the-clock line, get a tarp up quickly to stop the water, and document the damage in the format your carrier actually expects.

- Insurance documentation. Clear photos, detailed descriptions, correct code references.
- Adjuster coordination. We speak their language and help move the claim along.

Where we work
Roofing across Sumter County and Central Florida.
Based in Bushnell (33513) and covering roughly a hundred miles out, across Sumter, Lake, Citrus, Hernando and Marion counties. If you’re not sure you’re in range, just call, the answer is usually yes.
Good questions
Answers before you call.
Can you quote my roof by the square footage of the house?
Not exactly, and here’s why it matters. Roofers price by roof area and pitch, not the home’s living square footage, because a steep or cut-up roof has far more surface than the floor plan suggests. We measure the actual roof, factor in pitch, layers, and deck condition, and hand you a written number for your roof specifically, not a guess off the listing.
Why should I use TAMKO Titan shingles?
TAMKO’s Titan line is a heavier architectural shingle built for wind, which is exactly what a Central Florida roof needs. It carries a strong wind rating and a clean, dimensional look, and because we’re a preferred installer we pass the better pricing on to you. If Titan is the right fit for your home we’ll say so, and if a GAF or Owens Corning line suits it better, we’ll tell you that too.
How long does a roof last in Bushnell, FL?
In our climate, three-tab shingles run about 12 to 18 years, architectural shingles 20 to 30, and metal 40 to 70. Florida’s UV, humidity and storms shorten every lifespan compared to cooler states. If your roof is past 15 years, a free roof check will tell you honestly where it stands.
Is a metal roof or a shingle roof better here?
Shingles cost less up front and are still the popular choice. Metal costs more to start but lasts two to three times longer, lowers cooling bills, and shrugs off hurricane-force wind, and Bushnell has no HOA rules limiting it. If you plan to stay 20-plus years, metal is often the smarter long-term call. We’ll lay out both for your home.
Do you replace roofs on manufactured and mobile homes?
Yes, and it’s one of our specialties. We install TPO flat roofing and GAF EverGuard SA membrane systems built for the low-slope sections common on manufactured homes. If someone quoted you a shingle re-roof that ignores those flat areas, call us before you sign anything.
Will insurance cover my roof after a storm?
It can, when the damage is properly documented and filed inside your carrier’s deadlines. Clear photos, detailed descriptions and the right code references make or break a claim. We’ve handled plenty of Sumter County claims and document damage in the format adjusters actually expect.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most single-family shingle replacements wrap in a single day. Metal roofing runs two to four days. Larger homes, complex roof lines, or deck repairs can add time, and we put a firm schedule in writing with every quote so you’re never guessing.
Do you charge for a roof inspection?
No. The roof check is free. Our estimator walks the roof, the attic if it’s accessible, and the flashing and gutters, photographs everything, and gives you a clear picture of where your roof stands, whether that’s a small repair or a full replacement.
