How long can a roof stay tarped?
A properly installed professional tarp holds for weeks and can go longer, which covers the gap while insurance, permitting and material lead times play out. That said, a tarp is a bridge, and we schedule the permanent repair as fast as the process allows.
Can I just tarp it myself?
We understand the instinct, and we ask you not to. Storm-damaged roofs hide soft decking, and wet shingles are slick. Beyond the safety issue, a light tarp anchored with bricks usually fails in the next storm and can flog the roof surface while it goes. Let us do it properly.
What does emergency tarping cost?
It depends on the size of the breach and the complexity of the roof, and you get the number before we start. When the damage is from a covered storm event, tarping is typically part of the claim as damage mitigation, and we document it accordingly.
Does a tarp damage the roof?
