Honest asphalt shingle roofing, Citrus County wide.

Asphalt Shingle Roofing · Citrus County
Shingles are still the smart default. The trick is which shingle, nailed how.
Salt air is real. Inverness sits about thirty-five minutes from our Bushnell shop, with Crystal River and Homosassa not far past it, and that closeness shows up in how Citrus County jobs run: real response times, a crew that knows Inverness and Crystal River street by street, and follow-through after the last truck leaves.
As a preferred installer for GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, TAMKO and Atlas, we buy better and pass it along, and we know each line honestly: which colors hold up in our sun, which lines carry the wind ratings that matter, and which upgrades are worth it on your specific roof.
Most Bushnell roofs wear asphalt shingles, and for good reason: they deliver the best protection per dollar of any roof you can buy, they look right on Florida homes, and a properly installed architectural line shrugs off the wind that tears cheap roofs apart.
Asphalt Shingle Roofing across Citrus County
On Citrus County roofs, this is the menu.
We will tell you which one your roof and your plans actually justify.
- Heavier wind-rated lines. TAMKO Titan and similar heavyweight shingles built for storm country.
- Luxury and designer lines. Slate and shake looks with maximum thickness, for homes that want the statement.
- Impact-rated options. Reinforced shingles some carriers reward with premium discounts.
- Full-system accessories. Ridge caps, starter strips and ventilation matched to the shingle line.
- Three-tab shingles. The budget single-layer strip. Fine for sheds and rentals, thin for Florida wind.
- Architectural shingles. Laminated dual-layer lines like GAF Timberline and OC Duration. The Bushnell standard.

The Citrus County side of the job.
The gulf side of our range gets coastal humidity and salt-carrying air on top of the usual storm season, which is hard on fasteners and flashing. That is the backdrop for every asphalt shingle roofing decision in this county, and it is why we do not quote from a truck window. We get on the roof, photograph what we find, and price what your roof actually needs rather than a one-size number.
The housing stock matters just as much. Citrus County means a big retiree base in Citrus Hills and Beverly Hills, coastal homes around Crystal River and Homosassa that take real salt air, and plenty of 1980s and 1990s roofs reaching the end of their first life. Each of those ages differently, and the right call on one is the wrong call on another. We have put hands on all of them, which is why our recommendations come with reasons attached.
Permits go through the Citrus County Building Division, inspections get scheduled without you chasing anyone, and the 10-year labor warranty we register on new roofs and re-roofs is the same one we stand behind at home in Bushnell. Salt air is real. We build for it.

Citrus County asks us these about asphalt shingle roofing.
How fast can you get to Inverness?
Inverness sits about thirty-five minutes from our Bushnell shop, with Crystal River and Homosassa not far past it. For urgent calls we can usually have eyes on a Inverness roof the same day, and a written number in your hands shortly after.
Do you really cover my part of Citrus County?
Almost certainly. We work Inverness, Crystal River, Citrus Hills, Lecanto, Homosassa and Beverly Hills, and the rural addresses between them. Inverness sits about thirty-five minutes from our Bushnell shop, with Crystal River and Homosassa not far past it. If you are anywhere in Citrus County and unsure, call and we will give you a straight yes or no in one minute.
Are architectural shingles worth it over three-tab?
In Florida, almost always. The laminated construction roughly doubles the wind resistance and adds years of life for a modest bump in cost. We install three-tab where it genuinely fits, mostly outbuildings, but we will not put it on a home without saying what you are giving up.
Can new shingles go over my old ones?
We do not do layovers. They hide the decking, void many warranties, trap heat that cooks the new shingle from below, and add weight the structure was not asked about. A tear-off costs a bit more up front and is better in every other way.
What color shingle is best for a Florida roof?
Lighter colors reflect more heat and can trim cooling costs, while dimensional darker lines can look sharper on some homes. Color is also an HOA question in some communities. We bring physical samples so you can see the real shingle on your real roof in daylight.
How long do asphalt shingles last in Central Florida?
Realistically, 20 to 30 years for architectural lines and 12 to 18 for three-tab, shorter than the same shingle up north because our UV and storm seasons work harder. Good attic ventilation and the occasional inspection push you toward the high end.
