Valley where two slopes of new gray architectural shingles meet

Honest asphalt shingle roofing, Citrus County wide.

GAF, Owens Corning, TAMKO and Atlas lines, installed by a preferred contractor at preferred pricing, with the wind ratings our storms demand. Every one goes down over a bare deck we have walked and checked after a full tear-off.

Asphalt Shingle Roofing · Citrus County

Shingles are still the smart default. The trick is which shingle, nailed how.

A shingle roof on the Gulf side of Citrus County lives a harder life than one inland. Near Crystal River and Homosassa the salt in the air works on nail heads, drip edge and step flashing, so the shingle itself is rarely the first part to give up. We choose those metal parts with that in mind, and the crew that tears off your old roof is the crew that nails down the new one.

As a preferred installer for GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, TAMKO and Atlas, we buy better and pass it along, and we know each line honestly: which colors hold up in our sun, which lines carry the wind ratings that matter, and which upgrades are worth it on your specific roof.

Most of the roofs we climb in Citrus County are asphalt shingle, and for good reason: they deliver the best protection per dollar of any roof you can buy, they look right on Florida homes, and a properly installed architectural line shrugs off the wind that tears cheap roofs apart.

Asphalt Shingle Roofing across Citrus County

On Citrus County roofs, this is the menu.

We will tell you which one your roof and your plans actually justify.

  • Heavier wind-rated lines. TAMKO Titan and similar heavyweight shingles built for storm country.
  • Luxury and designer lines. Slate and shake looks with maximum thickness, for homes that want the statement.
  • Impact-rated options. Reinforced shingles some carriers reward with premium discounts.
  • Full-system accessories. Ridge caps, starter strips and ventilation matched to the shingle line.
  • Three-tab shingles. The budget single-layer strip. Fine for sheds and rentals, thin for Florida wind.
  • Architectural shingles. Laminated dual-layer lines like GAF Timberline and OC Duration. Our default on a Florida home.

The Citrus County side of the job.

Nobody prices a shingle roof here from the driveway. We climb up, lift a few tabs, see how the old nails are holding and how the ridge is venting, and photograph all of it, so the quote you get is built from your roof and not from a square-foot guess. Coastal humidity and the storm season both leave marks a camera picks up, and on the Gulf side the pictures usually tell the fastener story before we say a word.

Age matters as much as location. A lot of the shingle roofs over retirees in Citrus Hills and Beverly Hills went on in the 1980s and 1990s, and many of them are finishing their first life now. Some still have good years left with a repair; some need to come off down to the deck. Whichever one yours is, you hear why in plain words before you decide anything.

Shingle re-roofs here are permitted through the Citrus County Building Division, and we book the inspections ourselves. Once the inspector signs off, the 10-year labor warranty on your new roof goes on file, the same paper a homeowner around our Bushnell shop gets.

The Tippy Top standard

How every Citrus County project runs, no exceptions.

None of this changes between swapping a few blown-off shingles and tearing a whole roof to the deck. Customers have rated us 4.9 stars on Google. The list below is what they were rating.

  • Insured crews only. The people nailing your shingles carry our liability and workers’ comp coverage, and Tippy Top holds a Florida roofing license.
  • A warranty with our name on it. A new shingle roof gets our 10-year workmanship warranty on paper, so if a nailing problem turns up in year six, you know exactly who to call and we still answer.
  • No skipped permits. A shingle re-roof that needs a permit gets one, pulled in your name, and we do not call the job finished until the county inspector has signed it.
  • No surprise add-ons. Shingle line, underlayment, flashing and vents are all spelled out on the quote before day one, which makes holding us up against another roofer a fair comparison.
  • Owner involvement. The owner keeps an eye on every shingle job, and a single lead carries yours from the day you phone to the last walk around the house.
  • Your grounds, protected. Tarps go over the beds and shrubs before the old shingles come off, and the tear-off lands in our trailer, never in your lawn.

Where we run this work.

Our shingle crews roof from Lecanto and Inverness west to Crystal River and Homosassa, and on the rural lots strung between them. A town missing from this page is rarely a town we skip, so ask before you assume.

Our Citrus County hub · Every county we roof

Citrus County asks us these about asphalt shingle roofing.

How soon can you look at a shingle problem near Inverness?

Our Bushnell shop is roughly thirty-five minutes from Inverness, and Crystal River and Homosassa are a little farther on. When shingles are missing or water is getting in, we can usually be up on the roof that same day and put a written number in front of you soon after.

Which Citrus County towns do your shingle crews work?

Most of them. Citrus Hills, Beverly Hills, Lecanto, Inverness, Crystal River and Homosassa all see our trucks, and so do the country properties on the roads that link them. If your address is somewhere you are not sure about, phone the owner and you will know inside a minute whether we can take the job.

Are architectural shingles worth it over three-tab?

In Florida, almost always. The laminated construction roughly doubles the wind resistance and adds years of life for a modest bump in cost. We install three-tab where it genuinely fits, mostly outbuildings, but we will not put it on a home without saying what you are giving up.

Can new shingles go over my old ones?

We do not do layovers. They hide the decking, void many warranties, trap heat that cooks the new shingle from below, and add weight the structure was not asked about. A tear-off costs a bit more up front and is better in every other way.

What color shingle is best for a Florida roof?

Lighter colors reflect more heat and can trim cooling costs, while dimensional darker lines can look sharper on some homes. Color is also an HOA question in some communities. We bring physical samples so you can see the real shingle on your real roof in daylight.

How long do asphalt shingles last in Central Florida?

Realistically, 20 to 30 years for architectural lines and 12 to 18 for three-tab, shorter than the same shingle up north because our UV and storm seasons work harder. Good attic ventilation and the occasional inspection push you toward the high end.
